Car rental near Vancouver International Airport

We are an independent vehicle rental company based in Richmond, BC, a few minutes from YVR. We rent to travellers and to local customers, for a day or for a month.

Vehicles

Our fleet is around 70 vehicles. Availability changes daily — contact us for what is on the lot.

Services

• Airport pickup and drop-off — we can meet you at YVR or deliver the vehicle.
• Insurance options — coverage through ICBC, or an activation option if you are already covered by your own policy or credit card. We will explain the options at the counter.
• Additional drivers — up to three may be added to the agreement.
• Optional equipment — child seats, boosters, phone mounts, chargers, ski and bike racks, dash cameras, and winter-tire-equipped vehicles in season.
• Long-term rentals — weekly and monthly rates available.

Rates depend on the vehicle, the season and the length of the rental. Please contact us for a quote.

Renting from us

• A valid driver's licence is required. Drivers with a licence issued outside Canada are welcome; an International Driving Permit may be required depending on the licence.
• A credit card in the renter's name is required for the security deposit.
• A security deposit authorization of CAD $1,000 is placed on the card at pickup. This is a hold, not a charge.
• The rental agreement is signed electronically before the vehicle is released.

Deposit, cancellation and refunds

Security deposit

A hold of CAD $1,000 is placed on the renter's credit card at pickup. It is released after the vehicle is returned and inspected. For some rentals — for example where the renter uses their own insurance, holds a licence issued outside Canada, rents a pickup, minivan or luxury vehicle, or rents for ten days or more — the hold is released up to 30 days after return, because charges such as traffic tickets can reach us after the rental has ended.

Cancellation

We do not take payment when you book. If you cancel before picking up the vehicle, there is nothing to refund and no cancellation fee.

Optional insurance

Optional insurance may be cancelled or changed before the vehicle is picked up, at no charge. Once the vehicle has been picked up, optional insurance cannot be cancelled or refunded.

Early return

If you return the vehicle before the agreed return time, the rental is not automatically refunded. Contact us and we will review the rental and decide what, if anything, is refunded.

Charges after the rental ends

Some charges reach us only after a rental has finished — traffic and parking tickets, tolls, towing or impound fees, and damage found after the vehicle is returned. Under the rental agreement these may be charged to the card on file. We will send you an itemized notice, with the supporting document, at or before the time the charge is made.

Disputes

If you disagree with any charge, please contact us before disputing it with your card issuer. Call us at +1 (778) 252-9998 or email rental@myvaar.com. We will review the charge with you and provide the supporting documents. Most questions are resolved in a day or two. If a charge was made in error, we refund it.
